MoD, Defence Diversification Agency – Regional Director (May 2002 to August 2006)
Managed a team of ten to bring about performance improvement, by the injection of knowledge and technology, to provide business solutions and improved profitability. By developing strong strategic alliances and partnerships, awareness of MoD / DDA services to the business community was created that enhances its image and portfolio of clients. Processes were developed for both suppliers and exploiters of KITS, through a requirements audit that reviewed, captured, and defined opportunities for demand led KITS transfer. He brought new networks and methods of working with intermediaries to enable effective and efficient deal flow, thus reducing the ratios of suspects to prospects in bidding
Participated in MoD New Ventures project responsible for setting up the Defence Diversification Agency

Quickly established a large portfolio of clients across a very diverse range of industries. His background and experience in senior management, R&D, manufacturing and production engineering, enabled the evaluation of business needs to optimise and match the use of knowledge, innovation and technology. This really impacted on performance and profitability, which resulted in economic growth.
Helped businesses generate and develop technology and innovative ideas. These businesses were real innovators and risk takers in the business community but did not always have the resources to maintain the research and technology bases to drive their innovation forward. KITS transfer provided options or solutions to complex problems frequently outside the company’s field of knowledge and direct experience.
By judging the differing business needs he provided appropriate advice and helped take appropriate actions to meet them effectively. He was concerned, not just with innovation or leading edge technology, but with knowledge and technology of any type or degree of sophistication that was appropriate to the company, including process, methods and practices.
