Contributing to a number of working parties investigating new technologies, for example the Department of Trade & Industries's Marine Foresight Panel and its task group for fast commercial ships
Editing the MOD's Journal of Defence Science
Providing Quality Assurance management for a number of European marine technology projects concerned mainly with coastal water quality

Creating and managing 'Nereus Technologies Limited' a consultancy specialising in advising start-up Companies

MOD (Before 2000)
Building up sales from £2.8M to £8M, established DERA Haslar as a Science Park with commercial tenants

Director of the Haslar Marine Technology Park Gosport, responsible for:
         Marketing spare capacity and filtering applicants to ensure synergy with DERA's activities on the site.
          Mentoring DERA Science Park Managers;
         Establishing general principles of operation, particularly for technology transfer issues.
         Marinetech South Ltd (as a Director), a company jointly owned with local universities to carry out graduate-level research for public bodies.
Member of the New Ventures team with responsibility for setting up the Defence Diversification Agency (DDA) involving recruiting staff, marketing it within the Ministry of Defence and to other Government departments
