EXPERIENCE AND ACHIEVEMENTS

BJ MarineTech Ltd (2003 - date) Core Business - design and production of instrumentation systems.

Provision of instrumentation units for Qinetiq ORPHEUS project.
Design of instrumentation and control system and associated software for a reconnaissance R.O.V.
Design of an acoustic transducer calibration system.

Blacknor Technology Ltd (2001-2003) Core Business - Underwater Acoustics and Instrumentation

IT Manager / Senior Projects Engineer responsible for IT and the company network, transducer calibration, system design and integration, instrumentation and generally taking part in the day to day running of the company.

DG Marine Ltd (1998 - 2001) Core Business - Underwater Transducer Calibration

Started the company; achieved UKAS accreditation (one of only 2 companies in the UK to achieve this, the other being NPL).
Developed the software and hardware for the U.K.A.S. automatic transducer calibration system.
Put in place the quality assurance system for DG Marine.

TGS Associates (1990-1998) Core Business - Trials Support

Trials engineer, support to trials and calibration of submarine sensors. Organisation and implementation of deep sea calibration trials. Contracted to Ultra Electronics (1994-1997) and Dowty Marine (1990-1994).

Before 1990

Trials/Electronic Engineer for Ferranti Thomson (1988-1990) and earlier DBE Technology (1982-1988). Calibration and maintenance of underwater acoustic sensors and associated electronics.

Served on various types of vessels within the British Merchant Navy (1972-1982), and was responsible for the operation and maintenance of communication equipment, also radar, echo sounders, engine control and instrumentation. Also responsible for the training of several junior radio officers.
